Joy Cioci’s Fall 2011 collection was presented at The Box in Lincoln Centre during New York Fashion Week. Joy is an emerging designer and a graduate of my alma mater the Fashion Institute Of Technology in NYC. Although a newcomer to the scene, her collection was far from amateur. Her presentation had a great mix of flowy dresses, knitwear and jackets. She captured two of the prominent Fall 2011 trends which were ruffles and fur. All of her pieces were very feminine, elegant and ideal for the quintessential uptown girl. My favourite designs included the two dresses that were short in the front but had long trains in the back. This particular style is just so elegant and fun! It’s definitely going to be a huge trend in future collections.
