Gravity Defying 9 Inch Platforms by Noritaka Tatehana

Noritaka Tatehana’s shoes are taking the fashion industry by storm. The Japanese designer behind the notorious 9 inch platforms has become quite the shoe celebrity after the gravity defying stunners were spotted on music queen Lady Gaga.

It appears as though sky high shoes are beginning to look like the future of fashion with fellow designers like the late Alexander McQueen designing the 10 inch Armadillo shoes. I can really see this trend taking off in the mass market if the price point changes to something more affordable. The current price for a pair of Noritaka Tatehana shoes ranges from $2,500-$6,500. While pocket change for celebrities like Lady Gaga these pricey creations are something most of us can only dream of owning. I would love to see Noritaka Tatehana do a similar but affordable line of these shoes for Payless since other high end designers like Christian Siriano and Alice + Olivia have seen tremendous success in catering similar versions of their designs to mass market fashion consumers.
